Who would want my stuff?
You’d be surprised. Since the growth of internet marketplaces, there’s been an explosion in what’s often called ‘peer to peer’ activity – where ordinary people swap, sell or rent stuff they have to others. It’s now easier than ever before to showcase what you have to offer, and find people willing to pay for it. And in most cases, it’s completely free to advertise.
What’s the catch?
There isn’t one really. If you’ve got a few minutes to spare you can pop your items, space or skills online, and start to see the demand for what you’ve got to offer. What have you got to lose?
What have I got to offer?
Have a look around you and think about what you could rent out – that attic space that’s gathering dust, a spare bedroom in case your relatives ever decide to come and stay, your driveway or your car, or even your powertools if you don’t use them regularly. Or how about your time and skills? If you think about it, you’ve probably got lots to offer, that someone nearby could be paying you for!
